In November 2025, the Houghton Trust sponsored the first Houghton Trust-BVPA Early Career Poultry Lecture at the winter meeting of the British Veterinary Poultry Association (BVPA). The lecturer was selected by the Houghton Trust and agreed by the BVPA Programme Secretary. It is intended that this will become an annual tradition.
All costs of attending the BVPA meeting at which the lecture is given will be met by the Houghton Trust.

In May 2026, the Houghton Trust will sponsor the first Houghton Trust-British Ornithologists Union Keynote Speaker at the BOU annual conference. The Keynote Speaker was selected by the Houghton Trust and the BOU. It is intended that this will become an annual tradition.
All costs of attending the BOU meeting at which the lecture is given will be met by the Houghton Trust.
